Fes → Merzouga → Marrakech
Fes to Marrakech Desert Tour
North to south and back west again: the cedar forests and the Ziz valley, a night in the Sahara, then the kasbah road towards Marrakech.
The same great crossing as Marrakech to Fes, taken in the other direction — the choice usually comes down to your flights.
Leaving Fes, the road climbs through Ifrane and the cedar forests of Azrou, crosses Midelt and follows the Ziz valley to Erfoud and Merzouga, where you enter the Erg Chebbi dunes for a night at the camp. From there the route turns west along the gorges of Todra and the Dades valley, past Ouarzazate and Aït Ben Haddou, and over the High Atlas to Marrakech.
We operate this crossing over three and four days.

Neither is better — it depends on your flights. The route is the same in both directions, and we operate it either way.
